Took another walk through the lanes to have a look at the cornfields. The farmer did make an attempt at cutting last week. Unfortunately the weather was against him.

It must be a very nerve racking time of year for the farmer because of the weather! One farmer said it costs him £2000 a day to hire a combine harvester for the day and you have to get it right, that the crop is not damp. In this case it was the rape seed and if the seed is a bit damp, they have to go through a drying process, costing the farmer even more money.
